The Palm Springs Surf Club

The Palm Springs Surf Club mobile app was designed to streamline and enhance the surf experience for users, from onboarding to wave riding. The app allows members and guests to book surf sessions, view upcoming and current rides, and connect with other surfers—all while ensuring a personalized and secure experience.

My Role:

As a Junior Product Designer I contributed to the UI design of the mobile app. My work focused on creating intuitive interfaces for the onboarding wizard, session scheduling, and user profile screens. I collaborated closely with senior designers and developers to ensure the UI was both functional and visually aligned with the brand’s identity and user expectations.


Key Features:

  • Surf Session Booking: Users can easily schedule surf times based on availability and personal eligibility, which is determined by skill level and experience.

  • Real-Time Session Tracking: Displays the user’s current and next sessions, helping surfers stay organized and on time.

  • Eligibility Checks: Ensures only users with the appropriate skill level can access advanced sessions for safety and experience alignment.

  • User Profiles: Personal dashboards include surfing history, preferences, and skill ratings.

  • Attendee List & Pairing System: Users can view who else is attending and are paired with compatible surfers via smart wristband integration.

  • Smart Wristband Integration: Wristbands are linked to user profiles and session details, making in-person check-ins and pairing seamless.

  • Onboarding Wizard: A guided flow where users enter basic information, verify their ID and age, and set up their account for a personalized experience.


Design Process:

  1. User Research to define user needs & feedback.

  2. Wire framing to map out the user journey.

  3. Designed intuitive, mobile-friendly UI for onboarding, booking, and user profiles using Figma.

  4. Built a consistent visual system with reusable components and clear hierarchy.

  5. Collaborated with developers to ensure accurate implementation and maintain design quality.
